Steven Brown serves as a deacon at the Hampton Avenue Church of Christ and has been a member for 18 years. He served in the United States Army, from March 1976 to November 1997. He graduated from the US Army Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers coarse and went on to achieve the rank of Sergeant First Class, E-7. His achievements are Expert M16 rifle, expert .9 mm pistol, Top dragon gunner 25th Infantry Division, Silver Streamer Physical Fitness Award, 5 US Army Commendation medals, 6 Good Conduct Medals, 3 overseas ribbons and many more. His assignments include Missile Maintenance Command Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Carson, Colorado, Missile Maintenance Company, 71st Ordinance Company, Pioneer Casern (Germany), 25th Infantry Light Fighter Division Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Instructor School and Training Company, Fort Knox, Kentucky, Senior Instructor Trainer/Writer, US Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia, and US Army Gold Badge Recruiter/Assistant Station Commander, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve has been married for 40 years to Evelyn Brown. They have two daughters Syretta and Sierra and currently reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
